We tend to feature a lot of images from NASA and their Hubble Space Telescope because of how awesome the images are. Today’s image of the day is no exception to the rules of awesomeness. It is the largest composite image every captured of the Andromeda galaxy by the NASA Hubble Space Telescope.
The telescope is powerful enough that it was able to resolve more than 100 million individual stars in a 61,000-light-year-long stretch of the galaxy’s flat disk.
This panoramic image is a product of the Panchromatic Hubble Andromeda Treasury program.
Space is pretty big and amazing.
